SUZANNE MÉJEAN PINNEY is an Emmy Award–winning documentary filmmaker, producer, and editor with more than a decade of experience creating non-fiction films, documentary series, and digital content for public media. Her work spans documentary features, broadcast television, and short-form storytelling, with a focus on arts, culture, science, history, education, and social impact.

Over the course of her career, Suzanne's work has received multiple industry honors, including five Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, multiple RTNA Golden Mike Awards, National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards, Southern California Journalism Awards presented by the Los Angeles Press Club, an L.A. Film Award, and an Outfest Award for Outstanding Documentary Feature, along with numerous additional nominations across these organizations.

As both a producer and editor, Suzanne enjoys shaping complex stories into emotionally engaging and visually compelling films. She believes documentary storytelling can deepen understanding, strengthen human connection, and inspire meaningful conversation. Her work reflects a commitment to thoughtful journalism, cinematic craftsmanship, and stories that illuminate the people, ideas, and communities shaping our world.

In addition to her creative expertise, Suzanne is an experienced collaborator and project leader with a proven ability to guide productions from concept through delivery while building and leading cross-functional creative teams.

Suzanne is a founding principal of SESUMA Productions LLC, whose documentary, episodic, and immersive media projects explore the human experience through stories that foster curiosity, empathy, and connection.

Suzanne is a dual citizen of Norway and the United States and lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Sef Pinney, and their two children.
